Iēātkaj Se (/jəˑt/ /kaʤ/ [layer] [pink]) is a subtropical Town located in Courtcrest Dutchy, Krièvlùji̊ La Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Iēātkaj Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Iēātkaj Se was founded by Glëg̈mth Hughan Davies Rāka, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Iēātkaj Se has a yearly average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 34°C (93°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 27°C (80°F). Iēātkaj Se receives an average of 228 cm/y (89 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Overview

Iēātkaj Se was founded durring the early 18th century in early fall of the year 1733, by Glëg̈mth Hughan Davies Rāka. The establishment of Iēātkaj Se was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Glëg̈mth Hughan Davies Rāka electing to pay people to resettle in Iēātkaj Se.

Iēātkaj Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 18th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Iēātkaj Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Iēātkaj Se is buildings have been located at convienant points along the pond Iēātkaj Se was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the premissive paverstone streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Iēātkaj Se's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. Iēātkaj Se's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Cultural Notes

Iēātkaj Se's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.

Different factions of the community might be trying to grasp at the remaining dregs of wealth, others might try to restart the failed industry, and some might look for a new livelihood. Any group or entity thought responsible for the collapse is likely to be treated very harshly, and some locals might find profit in shifting the blame to their enemies.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Iēātkaj Se was attacked by a slaver gang capable of fielding large forces. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Iēātkaj Se lost 275 people, 150 livestock, and 29 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 48, when members of Iēātkaj Se's militia enacted an operation to scout a specific location for information about the enemy. The operation was complicated by a key segment of the operation that deepened entirely on a stealth mission going perfectly. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the ruin, which ended in a stalemate for Iēātkaj Se's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Iēātkaj Se's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
